Emergency Crews Respond To Reported Gas Leak In North Haven: PD

Roads around the 100 block of Elm Street is closed due to a reported gas leak, the North Haven Police Department said.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Emergency crews are on-scene near the 100 block of Elm Street, where a gas leak has been reported, the North Haven police reported on their Twitter and Facebook pages at approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

North Haven Fire Chief Paul Januszewski told the New Haven Register that Southern Connecticut Gas Co. was working on a pipeline on Elm Street when a high-pressure gas leak took place, spreading a gas smell around the area.

Nearby streets are closed as of 5:51 p.m., and drivers are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
