Employee Called In Fake Bomb Threat To Amazon Facility: North Haven PD
The bomb threat led to the evacuation of the Amazon facility, according to police.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — An employee is accused of calling in a bomb threat to the Amazon Fulfillment Center in North Haven earlier this year, according to police.
Police said a bomb threat was called in to the department’s communications center around 11 p.m. on July 14.
The caller indicated a bomb was placed in the North Haven Amazon Fulfillment Center, according to police.

“Upon coordinating with North Haven Fire and Amazon security, the building was evacuated, triggering a multi-jurisdictional response,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Members of the Regional Bomb Squad, along with K-9s who specialize in explosive detection, responded to the scene. The scene was searched and determined to be clear.”
Detectives determined an Amazon employee, 32-year-old Michael Pierre of Bridgeport, initiated the bomb threat from nearby the facility, according to police.

Pierre was arrested Monday on a warrant and charged with misuse of emergency 911-false alarm, first-degree false incident report, and first-degree breach of peace. He was held in lieu of a $25,000 court-set bond and arraigned Monday morning at Meriden Superior Court, according to police.
