Fallen Tree Removal Update In North Haven

Town officials update residents on the removal of storm-damaged trees and brush.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — (From Town Hall): Due to the extreme magnitude of damaged and fallen trees from the May 15 storm/tornado, the Town of North Haven does not have the resources or capability to provide pick up and removal of storm damaged trees and brush.

We will be providing residents affected by the storm with a central location at 91T Sackett Point Road where they can make their own arrangements to haul and drop off storm debris.

The Town is accepting storm brush and fallen cut up trees at 91T Sackett Point Road, this Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proof of residency is required. An announcement regarding the availability of additional hours beyond Sunday will be forthcoming.

Also, the Town of North Haven in conjunction with other area towns, is applying for Federal Emergency Management Assistance (FEMA). We will know by the end of May if this monetary assistance will be granted by the government. If we do qualify for FEMA, the Town will hire an outside contractor to perform the job of picking up the storm related debris from those residents who have not yet disposed of their storm damaged trees and debris.
