Fatal Accident Closes Road In North Haven: Police

NORTH HAVEN, CT — North Haven Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Monday on Middletown Avenue or Route 17 just south of the Montowese Avenue intersection, police said.

"One vehicle, traveling northbound on Middletown, left the roadway, rolled over and impacted a utility pole on the west side of the roadway. Police, Fire and Utility companies are working together during this active accident scene," police said in a statement.

Middletown Avenue is currently closed to traffic at both Montowese Avenue and Village Street. The roadway is expected to be closed for several more hours. Members of the South Central Connecticut Regional Traffic Unit are assisting in the investigation.
