Fire Heavily Damages North Haven Home, Displaces Family

A fire broke out around 3 a.m. on Monday morning and the family is expected to be displaced from their home for several months.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven home was heavily damaged in an early Monday morning fire, displacing family of four.

NBC Connecticut reports a mother and her three children, all in their teens, and the family dog all made it out of the Green Hill Road home safely after a fire broke out around 3 a.m. The family is expected to be displaced for several months, according to NBC.

Emergency crews responded to a 911 call at 3:04 a.m. for the home at 6 Green Hill Road.

Fire crews found a heavy fire that appeared to start on a porch and extend upward and inward to rooms on the first and second floor and the attic, officials said in a press release.

Firefighters commenced an aggressive interior attack to bring the blaze under control.

Five North Haven engines, one ladder, one rescue, and a deputy chief were all on scene. Substantial overhauling was needed to ensure that the fire was out, and the building sustained significant damage from fire and smoke.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
