Great Escape: New Britain Museum of American Art

Each week, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much-deserved break, and make your life a little easier, maybe a whole lot easier.
Spring has been around for a few weeks now, but you may be experiencing some leftover winter blues. A visit to a Caribbean island sure would help matters. However, with limiting factors such as the unpredictable weather, the high price of airline tickets, and…oh yes, your daily responsibilities, such a trip might not be possible at the moment.
If you can’t run away to the tropics right now, try the next best thing for this week’s Great Escape:

On Sunday, April 10, from 3:00-4:00pm, the New Britain Museum of American Art will hold its monthly Concert Series .This week, you can enjoy “Music of the Caribbean,” performed by the New Britain Symphony and featuring steel drum ensemble Harmony of Steel.
The concerts take place the second Sunday of each month and are free with museum admission (normally $10 per adult for nonmembers). NOTE: This Sunday is Community Day at the museum, so everyone is admitted FREE.

If you go early, you can take their American masterpieces tour from 1:00-2:00 p.m., or just browse around and see the other current exhibits.
