Gun Store Application Withdrawn In North Haven: Report
A firearms instructor had sought to sell guns out of a storefront in North Haven, according to a report.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — An application to sell guns out of a storefront on Washington Avenue in North Haven has been withdrawn by the owner, according to the New Haven Register.
The Register reports Peter Estrada, who operates the Urban 2a firearm training academy out of 140 Washington Avenue, had sought a change of use application with the town Planning and Zoning Commission to be able to add a counter to sell guns.
The application drew opposition from residents, including First Selectman Michael Freda, based on its proximity to several restaurants and businesses that attract families, along with a nearby park, according to the Register.
