K-9 Finds Fentanyl, Heroin In ‘Suspicious’ Vehicle: North Haven PD

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man was arrested Wednesday after police said a North Haven K-9 found fentanyl and heroin in his vehicle.

Police were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of an abandoned business near Montowese Avenue and Quinnipiac Avenue, according to officials.

The driver was found asleep and slumped back in the vehicle’s seat, police said.

During the investigation, police said Officer Joseph Bianchi used his K-9 partner Quella to conduct an exterior narcotics search of the vehicle.

K-9 Quella alerted Bianchi to the rear driver’s side of the vehicle, where several containers of fentanyl and heroin were found, according to police.

The 36-year-old driver was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance – second offense.
