Kobylanski To Be Recognized As One Of 'New Haven's Finest'
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will formally recognize North Haven native Michael Kobylanski at an event in July.

NEW HAVEN, CT — North Haven native Michael Kobylanski, Associate Director of Athletics/Communications at Southern Connecticut State University, has been selected as one of "New Haven's Finest" by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Kobylanski will be formally recognized at an event on Friday, July 29 at the Country House in East Haven.
Each year, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation honors "New Haven's Finest", professionals from around New Haven County who are impacting the community in a positive way by showing success in their field and leadership in their circle of influence.

Kobylanski recently completed his ninth year at SCSU and 15th in collegiate athletic administration. He oversees all internal and external communications efforts for the SCSU Athletic Department and its 19 varsity sports, including media relations, publications, marketing, promotions, community relations, licensing and corporate sponsorship.
Extremely active within the local community, Kobylanski is a current co-chair of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce Sports Council Steering Committee and a past co-chair of the March of Dimes' annual 'Elm City Legends' event. He is a current member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9921 and a former member of the New Haven YMCA Youth Center Board of Managers. Kobylanski has also been a volunteer coach and manager within Cheshire Youth Baseball for the past five years.

He was recognized for his volunteer work by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in 2015 as a recipient of its inaugural "Volunteer 15" award and is slated to again be recognized with this honor later this summer. He is also current member of the CoSIDA Job Seekers Committee, where he assists with providing mentorship to aspiring professionals in the field.
Kobylanski also represents the SCSU athletic department in numerous capacities, including the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Regional Advisory Committee, the Northeast-10 Conference Committee on Sport Administration, the ECAC Championships Committee and the ECAC Division II Men's and Women's Soccer and Men's and Women's Basketball Championship selection committees. He was also appointed by SCSU President Dr. Mary Papazian as one of the university's co-captains for its efforts during the 2014 and 2015 American Heart Association 'Heart Walk' events.
