Library Renovations To Be Unveiled At Special Event In North Haven

The North Haven Memorial Library will hold a special event to celebrate the newly updated library spaces, according to officials.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The North Haven Memorial Library will hold a special event to celebrate the recent completion of library improvements, according to officials.

The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 21, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Community Room.

“The morning will kick off with a brief ceremony followed by a community celebration welcoming residents to explore the library’s newly updated spaces,” officials wrote in a news release. “Visitors are encouraged to stop by, enjoy light refreshments, and take a look at the many improvements designed to better serve the community.”

Renovation highlights include:

  • A new teen space
  • A new and expanded café area
  • New study/meeting rooms
  • A redesigned Adult Service Desk
  • New flooring in the Children’s Department, Lobby, and Community Room

"Our community’s needs and values guided these improvements,” said Susan Griffiths, director of library services. “These enhancements were designed to create more inviting, functional spaces for library users—places where people feel welcome, comfortable, and valued, where they can learn, explore, and connect with friends and the broader community."

The event is free and open to the public. Community members of all ages are invited to attend and celebrate this investment in a shared community space.

The renovation project was paid for in part by state funds provided by the Connecticut State Library, including $249,999 in state bond funds made available for this project, according to the news release.
