North Haven, CT – Lisa Rebeschi of Northford, an academic nurse educator and administrator, has been appointed associate dean and professor in the School of Nursing at Quinnipiac University.

“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Rebeschi to the leadership team at the School of Nursing,” said Lisa O’Connor, dean of the School of Nursing. “Her background as an educator and administrator, and her outstanding commitment to students and colleagues help further our mission to be a leader in the education of the next generation of nursing professionals.”

Rebeschi said, “I am thrilled to join the School of Nursing at Quinnipiac at such an exciting time. The school prepares students for the evolving role of nurses through a wide array of programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition, we educate nurses of the future by teaching them how to work as part of a team through interprofessional education with students in the schools of law, medicine and health sciences.”

Most recently, Rebeschi served as chairperson in the department of nursing at Southern Connecticut State University, where she was responsible for leading and managing more than 60 full and part-time adjunct faculty who taught in the undergraduate baccalaureate program, 12-month accelerated career entry (ACE) program for second degree students, MSN degree programs, including the family nurse practitioner, nurse educator and clinical nurse leader tracks, and an online EdD in nursing education.

Before that, she was a tenured professor at the university, teaching numerous undergraduate and graduate (MSN and EdD) level courses. Earlier in her academic career, she was an adjunct lecturer and clinical instructor in pediatric nursing at the Saint Joseph College, Division of Nursing in West Hartford.

Rebeschi received her doctorate from Capella University in Minneapolis, and her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from Southern Connecticut State University.

Over her career she has conducted research, published and presented widely, and received numerous grants. She also is active in community service and is currently president-elect of the Connecticut League for Nursing, an accreditation site visitor for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, a member of the National League for Nursing, the American Nurses Association and the Connecticut Nurses Association.

She is the recipient of many awards, including a leadership award from the Connecticut League for Nursing, the Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing from the VNA of South Central Connecticut and the G. Gordon Copeland Award for Extraordinary Volunteer Service from the American Red Cross of Central Connecticut.
