Man Attempts to 'Kick In' Front Door of North Haven Home: Police

North Haven Police apprehended the suspect, who was confronted by the resident, a short distance from the home.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Hamden man faces charges after North Haven Police say he attempted to break into a North Haven home late Friday night.

A Spring Road resident called police around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, April 29, reporting that a man was attempting to kick in his front door, according to police.

The resident confronted the man, who was later identified as 30-year-old Michael Harper, and the suspect fled the area.

North Haven officers apprehended Harper a short distance from the home, police said.

Harper was charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary and breach of peace. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

Harper is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on May 12.
