Man Booked for Stealing from Barnes and Noble

North Haven Police charge Northford man with theft of 14 books.

North Haven police have arrested a Northford man for allegedly stealing 14 books from Barnes and Noble.

North Haven Police Officers were on routine patrol on Universal Drive at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday when a concerned citizen flagged them down in regards to a possible theft from the store, according to a police press release.

The citizen told the officers that a white male had entered into Five Below with several books under his arm, asking for an empty bag. After receiving a bag, the suspect filled it with the books and left the store walking toward the Bank of America ATM, according to police.

Upon locating the described suspect, an investigation revealed that Christopher White, 28, had stolen 14 books from Barnes and Noble, according to police.

White was arrested and charged with larceny. He is due to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 19.
