Man Broke Into Corvette, Stole Gun: North Haven Police

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Waterbury man is accused of breaking into a Corvette and stealing a gun earlier this year in North Haven, according to police.

A Fitch Street resident reported in January that his 2014 Chevrolet Corvette was burglarized while parked in his driveway, according to police.

Police said the suspect forced entry into the locked vehicle and stole a Ruger handgun along with other items. Detectives processed the vehicle for evidence, and with the assistance from the Connecticut Forensic Laboratory identified the suspect, according to police.

Sammy Medina, 28, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant. He was charged with third-degree burglary, theft of a firearm, and criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Medina was held in lieu of a $21,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday morning, according to police.
