Man Caught In Stolen Vehicle In North Haven: Police

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Middletown man was arrested after police said he was found in a stolen vehicle early Thursday morning in North Haven.

Police said that around 2:20 a.m. on March 21, North Haven officers assigned to extra patrols targeting vehicle thefts and larcenies encountered a suspicious vehicle in a Universal Drive parking lot.

Officers approached the vehicle and found that it was stolen from Waterbury, according to police.

Police said a single occupant was found in the vehicle and arrested.

Michael Garvey, 41, was charged with third-degree larceny.

“The North Haven Police Department has utilized grant funding to increase patrols during certain shifts to target these crimes and we remain committed to increased patrols of residential, retail, and commercial areas,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Often times these stolen vehicles in town are utilized to commit crimes in North Haven, such as car theft/break ins, or commercial burglaries.
