Man Charged In $1M Embezzlement Scheme: North Haven Police

The man was arrested following a lengthy investigation, according to police.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven man has been arrested in connection with a more than $1 million embezzlement scheme, according to police.

Police said North Haven detectives launched an investigation on March 25, 2025, regarding the reported embezzlement involving approximately $1.1 million dollars.

Upon speaking with the complainants, police said detectives learned the victims “believed they were investing in, and financing, a legitimate cannabis business venture.”

Detectives conducted multiple interviews and executed several search warrants over the course of the year-long investigation, according to police.

Police said investigators identified 47-year-old Eddie Fernandez as the person who introduced the business opportunity, who met with the victims, and collected more than $1 million in funds.

Fernandez was arrested on a warrant on Feb. 25. He was charged with four counts of first-degree larceny, one count of second-degree larceny, one count of second-degree forgery, and five counts of SEC fraud, according to police.
