Man Charged In Attempted Burglary Of Store In North Haven: Police
Police said surveillance footage showed three suspects trying to break into the store by using a sledgehammer at the front door.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Hartford man has been arrested in connection with the attempted burglary of a jewelry store in North Haven earlier this year, according to police.
Police responded around 2:50 a.m. on April 14 to an attempted burglary at a jewelry store on Washington Avenue.
“Surveillance footage showed three suspects attempting to gain entry by using a sledgehammer to breach the front door,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “The suspects fled the scene after triggering the store’s audible alarm.”

Police said North Haven detectives initiated a thorough investigation and collected forensic evidence.
With support from the State of Connecticut Forensic Laboratory and multiple regional law enforcement agencies, police said investigators identified 58-year-old Troy Coleman of Hartford as one of the suspects.

Coleman was arrested Wednesday on a warrant and charged with attempted burglary and criminal mischief. He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond and taken to Meriden Superior Court on Wednesday morning to be arraigned, according to police.
“This business had been targeted multiple times, and we anticipate more arrests to follow,” police wrote.
Coleman was also arrested earlier this week by South Windsor police in connection with a burglary of a jewelry store in that town.
