NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Meriden man was arrested on a warrant Wednesday for stealing a carton of cigarettes from a gas station in North Haven last year, according to police. The theft occurred Feb. 10, 2019 when a man, later identified as Bryan McLaughlin, entered a gas station on Washington Avenue and asked for a carton of cigarettes, police said.
After the clerk put the cigarette carton on the counter, McLaughlin asked for another item that was on the shelf behind the clerk. When the clerk went to get the item, McLaughlin grabbed the cigarette carton off the counter and ran from the store, police said.
McLaughlin, 33, was arrested Jan. 29 and charged with sixth-degree larceny while he was incarcerated for unrelated charges, according to police.
