Man Crashes In Stolen Car, Gets Arrested: North Haven Police

Police say the man, who attempted to leave the scene, was also found with items that were recently stolen from Target.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man was arrested after police say he crashed in a stolen car and left the scene Friday afternoon in North Haven. Police responded to the area of Route 22 and State Street around 12:30 p.m. on the report of an accident with a suspect trying to leave the scene.

The caller gave police information on where the suspect vehicle was heading and detectives stopped the vehicle in the area.

Carlos Rivera, 21, was taken into custody. He was found to be operating a vehicle that was stolen out of New Haven, according to police. He was also found to be in the possession of several items that were recently stolen from Target on Universal Drive, police said.

Rodriguez was charged with sixth-degree larceny, third-degree larceny, evading responsibility, operating with a suspended license and failure to drive a reasonable distance apart from another vehicle. He was held on bond.
