Man Fraudulently Bought $3.7K Worth Of iPhones: North Haven PD
Police are asking for help with identifying the suspect.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Police are asking for help with identifying a man they say fraudulently purchased three iPhones worth about $3,750 with a Comcast customer’s information. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 2 at the Xfinity Store at 300 Universal Dr.
Police said the man purchased three Apple iPhones XS Max 256 GB valued at $1,249.99 each with a “fraudulent identification card containing the personal identifying information of a Comcast customer.”
The customer service agent asked the man for his telephone number so he could access the account, according to police. The suspect provided the telephone number that matched the account.

“The customer service agent then asked the male for a government issued identification and Social Security number,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “The male produced a Connecticut Driver’s License in the name of the customer, but with the suspect’s photo. The suspect also provided the agent with a Social Security number which matched the number associated with the account.”
The suspect is described by police as a black man in his 30s, about 5-feet, 6-inches tall with a thin build and was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, tan waist length jacket and royal blue pants.
