Man Robbed Victim’s Jewelry At Gunpoint: North Haven Police

A man has been arrested in connection to a recent armed street robbery in North Haven.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man has been arrested in connection to a street robbery at gunpoint last month in North Haven. The robbery occurred in the area of McDermott Road and Quinnipiac Avenue on Aug. 18.

The victim told police that he was approached by two men while he was walking toward his vehicle. One of the men pointed a gun at the victim’s abdomen and robbed him of the jewelry he was wearing, according to police. The suspects then left the area in a vehicle heading southbound.

During the course of the investigation, North Haven detectives identified Kiveon Hyman as a suspect. Hyman, 21, of New Haven, was taken into custody early Thursday morning (Sept. 19). He was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny. He is being held on a $250,000 court-set bond.
