Man Stole $42K In Tools, Other Items: North Haven Police

Police say the man made many fraudulent purchases while falsely claiming to be an authorized representative of a local construction company.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven man is accused of stealing more than $42,000 worth of tools and other items while falsely claiming to be an authorized representative of a local construction company, according to police. Salvatore Delucia, 62, was arrested on a warrant Friday.

Police said Delucia claimed to be an authorized representative of a construction company that held an account at a Sackett Point Road hardware supply store and made numerous fraudulent purchases. The investigation found that Delucia stole more than $42,000 worth of tools and miscellaneous items that were billed to the construction company during the fall of 2018, according to police.

Delucia was charged with first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny. He was released after posting a $10,000 court-set bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on May 9.
