Man Stole Rare Coins From Church: North Haven Police

Police say a man has been arrested on a warrant for burglarizing a church in North Haven.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven man is accused of stealing rare foreign and domestic coins from a local church last spring, according to police. The burglary occurred at Montowese Baptist Church, located 201 Quinnipiac Ave., during the spring of 2018.

After a long-term investigation that involved the State of Connecticut Forensic Laboratory, police said 30-year-old Matthew Vozza of North Haven was developed as a suspect based on evidence at the scene.

Police secured a warrant for Vozza, who turned himself in on May 6. He was charged with burglary and larceny and was held on a $10,000 bond, according to police.
