Man In ‘Suspicious Vehicle’ Found With Heroin, Arrested: North Haven PD
Police said the man was found to be in the possession of more than 150 wax folds of suspected heroin during the overnight hours Thursday.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Hartford man was arrested early Thursday morning after police said he was found to be in the possession of more than 150 wax folds of suspected heroin.
Police said around 3:40 a.m. on May 2, officers assigned to target auto theft and violence, funded by the ARPA Auto Theft and Violence grant, found a “suspicious vehicle” behind the Best Western Hotel.
An officer contacted the person, later identified as 25-year-old Jeremy Cruz-Velez, who ran into a wooded area, according to police.

The officer ran after Cruz-Velez and was able to subdue him, police said.
Police said a search of the vehicle found 155 wax folds of suspected heroin, multiple scales, and other narcotic paraphernalia.

Cruz-Velez was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and interfering/resisting arrest. He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, according to police.
