Man Tasered After Refusing To Leave Restaurant: North Haven PD

Police say the man physically resisted officers after being told several times that he needed to leave the restaurant.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Hamden man was subdued with a Taser after police say he was physically resisting officers who were trying to get him to leave JRoo’s restaurant in North Haven on Saturday night. North Haven police responded to the restaurant at 249 State St. around 7:45 p.m. on the report of an “unwanted person.”

Police said officers were advised a patron, later identified as Marcus Gibson, 40, was refusing to leave.

“The investigation revealed Gibson was asked to leave by staff, but refused to do so until he was able to speak to a female who was working at Jroos,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Gibson was advised numerous times that he needed to leave the restaurant. While attempting to remove Gibson from the restaurant, Gibson began to physically resist officers. A taser was deployed and Gibson was subsequently provided medical attention out of precaution.”
