Manager Stole $15K From Barnes & Noble: North Haven Police
The woman is accused of stealing $15,000 by conducting more than 150 fraudulent returns while working as manager of Barnes & Noble.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A North Haven woman is accused of stealing $15,000 while working as manager of Barnes and Noble by conducting more than 150 fraudulent returns over a three-month period, according to police.
Samantha Kobuta, 24, was arrested Friday, Oct. 18, following an investigation that began over the summer. North Haven detectives were contacted by Barnes and Noble on Aug. 26 to assist in an investigation of fraudulent returns by an employee, according to police.
Police said that Kobuta conducted more than 150 fraudulent returns while manager of the North Haven Barnes and Noble. She is accused of stealing about $15,000 in cash over a three-month period while conducting the returns, according to police.

Kobuta was charged with second-degree larceny and was held on a $25,000 court-set bond.
