Masked Juvenile Found Walking With BB Gun In North Haven: Police

Police said the BB gun had the orange identifier tip "intentionally removed" and the juvenile was wearing a balaclava-style mask.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — An East Haven juvenile was charged with carrying a facsimile firearm after they were found with a BB gun Saturday morning in North Haven, according to police.

North Haven police were notified by the East Haven Police Department around 11:30 a.m. on March 2 regarding a call they received about a juvenile East Haven resident walking on Half Mile Road in North Haven.

Police said the juvenile was being followed by family, and was possibly armed.

“Information was obtained that the juvenile had left the house in a suspicious manner which caused family members to follow them, but they ultimately lost sight of the juvenile,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “North Haven patrol officers located and detained the juvenile on North Hill Rd near Beach Ln. The juvenile was found to be in possession of a BB gun with the orange identifier tip intentionally removed to give the appearance of a working firearm. They were also found to be wearing a black balaclava style mask at the time.”

The juvenile was issued a summons for carrying a facsimile firearm, according to police.
