National Home Decor Retailer Coming To North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A national home décor retailer is coming to North Haven, First Selectman Michael Freda announced this week.

At Home, a Texas-based retailer, will be located in the former Toys R Us/ Babies R Us and Ulta space in the shopping plaza with Best Buy on Universal Drive, according to Freda.

At Home has 225 stores nationally and only one other Connecticut location in Manchester.

“This is a retailer that can best be described as a giant Home Goods store,” Freda wrote in a post on Facebook. “This store will feature over 50,000 items for all home needs, and will feature items for every single room in a home.

“Due to the massive reconstruction and retrofitting involved and needed in that 80,000 square foot portion of that plaza, it will take several months to design and build out that large space for this new store to open.”

Freda said it was a “very complicated project” that took nearly two years to finalize.

At Home is expected to open early next year, according to the New Haven Register.
