Nearly 50 Vehicles Burglarized In 1 Week In North Haven: Police

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Nearly 50 vehicles have been burglarized within the past week in North Haven.

“Just in the past week we have responded to 46 reports of vehicle burglaries,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Criminals are smashing windows to locked vehicles and looking for items of value. These crimes are throughout town in commercial parking lots and residential neighborhoods. We have increased staffing on our overnight shifts with the assistance of grant funding to attempt to suppress these crimes.”

Police shared the following list of streets where the vehicle burglaries have occurred:

Maple Avenue

George Street

Blakeslee Avenue

Washington Avenue

State Street

Skiff Street

Monroe Street

Lynette Drive

Pool Road

Woodside Drive

Sackett Point Road

Ridgewood Avenue

Ansonia Drive

Anyone with surveillance video that can assist in the investigations is asked to contact police at 203-239-5321.

Police also said that several vehicles have been stolen over the past week, with drivers that have fled from officers who tried to stop them.

“This is a problem throughout the state, and law enforcement needs your help,” police wrote.
