North Haven Crews Revive Man, 19, After Heroin Overdose

It was the sixth heroin overdose in North Haven within the past three weeks, according to police.

North Haven, CT — Emergency crews revived an unresponsive 19-year-old man after an apparent heroin overdose with a dose of Narcan on Wednesday, according to police.

North Haven police and fire personnel responded to a Carriage Drive home for the report of an unresponsive 19-year-old man.

Inside of the home, investigators located drug paraphernalia consistent with recent heroin use, according to police.

Police said the unresponsive man was given a dose of naloxone, commonly referred to as Narcan, which is an opioid antidote that can reverse the effects of an overdose.

“This effort was successful in reviving the man,” police said in a press release. “North Haven Detectives processed the scene and collected evidence. This non-fatal overdose is the sixth heroin overdose in the past three weeks.

“Anyone with information regarding the sale, source, or operation of heroin distribution in the area is asked to cooperate with the North Haven Police Department and contact the Investigative Services Division at 203-239-1616.”
