North Haven Democrats Host Grand Opening
State and local candidates and dignitaries in attendance

To celebrate the opening of its new headquarters, the North Haven Democratic Town Committee held an open house on September 14 at the headquarters, located at 2 Broadway in North Haven. Several state and local dignitaries and Democratic candidates for statewide office attended the event. State Senator Martin Looney; Susan Bysiewicz, candidate for lieutenant governor; William Tong, candidate for attorney general; Shawn Wooden, candidate for state treasurer; Aili McKeen, candidate for state senator for the 34th district; and Theresa Ranciato-Viele, candidate for state representative for the 87th district, addressed the crowd of more than 50 guests, along with Nick Balletto, chairman of the state Democratic party. Representatives from U.S. Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro’s campaign and U.S. Senator Chris Murphy’s campaign were also in attendance.
Kathy Grant, chair of the North Haven DTC, said of the event, “This is a great moment for the North Haven DTC. We have less than two months until the November 6 election, and we are pouring all of our energies into getting our qualified, dedicated Democratic candidates elected. The headquarters gives us a gathering place for canvassing, phonebanking, meetings, and candidate events, and our central location in town gives us high visibility. I encourage voters to drop by and pick up some literature about the candidates or talk to one of our volunteers. Better yet, help us out by volunteering your time to one of the campaigns!”
The headquarters is open Sunday 12-6 p.m., Monday-Friday 12-8 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The phone number is 203-626-1711.
