North Haven Youth Football Game Summaries
Week 9
The eighth-grade Indians won their second consecutive game 24 -0 over Wallingford. Damian Carrano had two touchdowns on runs of 55 and 56 yards. Anthony Rapuano added a 70-yard run. Chase De Carlo was good on all three extra-point conversions. Patrick Lillis, James Yoshua, and Matt Gargano all made key defensive stops.

Eighth Grade
North Haven's eighth-grade team got back into the win column with a 36-27 victory over Manchester. Damian Carrano started the scoring with a 40-yard touchdown run.

After a fumble recovery by Joe Verillo, Carrano went 30 yards for his second of the day. After a Taray Smart interception, David Pace went in from 8 yards out. Smart added a 5-yard touchdown run and Pace scored on a 27-yard run.
Chase DeCarlo added three extra-point conversions. James Loda played well on special teams pinning Manchester back inside their 15 on two occasions.
Seventh Grade
The seventh-grade Indians improved their record to 4-3 with a 26-8 victory over rival Madison this Sunday at Surf Club Field in Madison.
Despite giving up a touchdown on the second play from scrimmage, North Haven didn’t give up another score for the remainder of the afternoon.
Many sustained North Haven drives along with a 75-yard touchdown run from Michael Bachmann were the stories of the remainder of the first half. However, Madison took an 8-6 lead into halftime.
The Indian defense swarmed Madison ball carriers all day. The Indians dominated the second half with its first drive culminating on a Bachmann 1 yard touchdown run. Dominic Amasino converted the 2-point conversion kick to give North Haven a 14-8 lead.
Sebastian DeRubeis broke numerous tackles during a 23-yard touchdown run to make it a 20-8 game. Bachmann finished the scoring with another touchdown run, this one for 49 yards.
Nicholas Bracale, Matteo Crisanti, Aiden Rapuano, Stephen Loda, Cole DeCusati, Joe Piper, Brendan Jooss, Riley Sykes, Nick Judd, Matt Cocco were among the Indians that laid the foundation for the victory.
Kennyel Santiago and DeRubeis added interceptions at key moments that proved to be big plays in the Indian victory
Week 7
Eighth Grade
The eighth graders lost a hard-fought battle to Shelton 12-8. The Indians fought hard all day driving on the Vikings.
Patrick Lillis, Damian Carrano, and Anthony Rapuano led the rushing attack. The offensive line of Anthony Vigliotti, Vinny Granata, Max Foley, Sean Sullivan, Ryan Ziaks, Anthony Verillo, Shamar Moore, Aaron Barbiero, Mason Sullivan, Art Cross and Amir Zureiqi were blocking machines, opening holes for the backs all day. David Pace, Sean Fenton, James Loda, Hayden Tomlin, and Taray Smart led the defensive effort.
Seventh Grade
The seventh-grade Indians evened their record at 3-3 with a 22-7 loss to Glastonbury. Despite a 1-yard touchdown run by Michael Bachmann to bring the score to 8-7 prior to halftime, North Haven didn’t get any closer.
Week 6
Eighth Grade
The 8th grade Indians were defeated by Guilford 26-0. The Indians were led on offense by Geno Schiavo and the "Storm offense.”
Chris Bracale, Matt Gargano, Justin Perille, Jake Ferraro, Hayden Tomlin moved the ball well. The defense was led by James Yoshua, Alex DeJesus, and Tyler Vertrano.
Seventh Grade
The seventh-grade Indians improved to 3-2 with a 31-6 victory over Branford at Vanacore Field. North Haven opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 64-yard run by Sebastian DeRubeis to make it 6-0.
A 60-yard touchdown pass from Luca Onofrio to Michael Bachmann gave North Haven a 12-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Ryan Balzano scored on a 1-yard rush to increase the lead to 18-0 at halftime. A 55-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Balzano to Matteo Crisanti gave North Haven a 24-0 lead early in the third quarter.
After giving up a Branford touchdown, North Haven closed out the scoring with a 5-yard Michael Bachmann touchdown run. Matt Dodge added the extra point conversion running to make it 31-6.
The Indian defense was led by M.J. DeVilliers, Stephen DiCristina, Stephen Loda, Johnny Appleby, and Nicholas Bracale.
Fifth Grade
The fifth-grade Indians lost to the Shelton 19-12 to drop their record to 2-3. North Haven played a great game but let up a touchdown in the fourth quarter to give Shelton the lead. The team played a great hard fought game. Adam Pandolfi scored two touchdowns with a 60-yard run and a 50-yard catch and run from a Brendan Ryan pass.
