North Haven Election 2023: Goldie Adele Running For Board Of Education

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The 2023 municipal election is heating up in North Haven with plenty of races on the ballot.

Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 7 and cast their ballots for the Board of Selectmen, Board of Education, Board of Finance, Town Clerk/Tax Collector and more.

North Haven Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Goldie Adele, 48, is running for re-election to the North Haven Board of Education as a Republican.

Two children, a girl and a boy. Age 8 and 5

No

Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?

My current role on the board of education is my first

Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

I have enjoyed my time on the board of education, being able to help educate our kids, support our teachers, and ensure excellence in our district. Covid was a true test of our resilience, and we succeeded. I ask the voters of North Haven to continue to support my re-election candidacy and I will continue my work in ensuring we have a district which excels academically and supports our kids, teachers and administrators

Providing a supportive environment for our kids

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I have experience and been tested through the challenges of covid. I have also worked well with other board members to move the district forward. During my time at the board, the district has built a new middle school, established new programs, improved infrastructure, excel in sports statewide, improved the curriculum and student experience

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

How North Haven school district has thrived and continues to do so, we have improved classroom learning and technology, how there is cooperation on the board and among administrators and staff to provide for our students. I plan to emphasize what I have done on the board and how we are preparing for the future

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I have been on the board of education for close to 10 years. This has been successful years in the district. We have managed our finances successfully, used our limited resources to benefit our kids. I have the right experience, track record, and understanding to continue to excel in this position

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Regardless of distractions, stay focused on your goals

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I am excited about public service, specifically an honor to help guide the academic, social and related growth of our kids.
