NORTH HAVEN, CT — The 2023 municipal election is heating up in North Haven with plenty of races on the ballot.

Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 7 and cast their ballots for the Board of Selectmen, Board of Education, Board of Finance, Town Clerk/Tax Collector and more.

Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

I am seeking a position on the Planning and Zoning Board because I am deeply passionate about shaping the future of our community. I believe that thoughtful urban planning is essential for creating vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive neighborhoods. Throughout my professional career and personal experiences, I have developed a keen interest in understanding the intricacies of urban development, zoning regulations, and their impact on communities.

I bring a unique blend of skills to this role. My background in stakeholder engagement and permitting on large utility projects has equipped me with an understanding of the technical aspects of planning and zoning. Additionally, my ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and my excellent communication skills allow me to bridge the gap between community members, developers, and local government authorities.

Population growth and economic demands often put pressure on our town to expand infrastructure, facilitate new developments, and attract businesses. However, doing so in a responsible and sustainable manner that to ensure long-term resilience is a complex task. I plan to navigate these challenges collaboratively with input from experts, community members, and policymakers to create a sustainable, livable, and economically vibrant North Haven.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I am a business-focused candidate and very passionate about the economic development in North Haven. Striking a balance between economic development and the well-being of our community with considerations from the public is my priority.
