Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
I have a great deal of respect for our Police Department and care about the dedicated officers and their dedication to protecting our town. Having served on the Police Commission for 6 years (the past four as Vice Chairperson), I truly appreciate the supportive role the commission offers to our department and I want to continue to do my best to advocate for the men and women who serve and protect North Haven .
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Within the realm of policing, I believe we need to continue to look for ways to decrease the amount of car thefts, burglaries, etc. Our Chief, department and First Selectman are already engaged in a regional organization and are working on that problem. Our job as Commissioners is to fully support that effort.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Those mentioned above.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have run a large, regional organization and was responsible for all aspects. I've served on dozens of committees, advisory boards and boards of directors. And, most importantly, I've spent the past six years, four as Vice Chairperson...on the Police Commission. I'm very dedicated to that position and our department.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Always reach beyond your boundaries and look to emulate those who are greater (my Father's advice).
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I've lived in North Haven for over 30 years and for all those years, I've worked to be involved in any way I can...both in business and through volunteer work.
