Education.
Quinnipiac University -- Juris Doctorate 2000; Arizona State University -- B.S. History 1995
What is your occupation?
Town Clerk/Tax Collector -- 14 years
Do you have a family? If so, please tell us about them.
Yes, husband and two children
Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No
Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
Yes, per current elected position. I am also an appointed member of the Board of Directors for QVHD
Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
I love working with the public, and I am able to use my legal background and history background to my advantage. I find that my special skill set works well with the demands of both of the offices that I have managed for nearly 14 years. I am very lucky, as I love what I do. Not many people can say that of their job.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.
The cost of living.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Any and all issues as relate to my two offices are of my concern. There isn't enough space to list here. Yet, I'm always open to meeting with my constituents to discuss their concerns and needs. I keep my door, and my mind, open to all.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
The work I have accomplished during these past 14 years as relates to both offices. Again, this space is too limited to list them all.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
"Be yourself; everyone else is taken."
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I'm from Mississippi. My two offices are super important to the Town, yet many people don't really think too much about them/the details of the offices/all of us who run them. So, if you are interested, come down and check us out, ask questions, etc. I know that paying your taxes isn't super exciting, nor a fun thing to do. Yet, if you know the details of the process of how taxation comes to be, you will find that it is very interesting and enlightening. Further, the multifarious aspects of the work done in the Town Clerk's office is amazing and intriguing, especially if you are a history lover.
