North Haven Girl, 16, Hides in Bedroom, Calls 911 During Home Burglary

The break-in occurred on Quinnipiac Avenue near Montowese Avenue while the 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were home.

A 16-year-old girl hid in a bedroom and called 911 when she heard a burglar enter her Quinnipiac Avenue home on Saturday.

North Haven police received the call at about 12:24 p.m. on April 25 and responded to the scene and discovered a forced-entry burglary had occurred at the home (located on Quinnipiac Avenue, near Montowese Avenue).

Officers assisted the 16-and-17-year-old residents, secured the scene, and determined the suspect fled the area in a waiting vehicle, according to police.

Police said no injuries or confrontations between the offender and residents occurred.

The home was processed for evidence by members of the Investigative Services Division and a suspect has been identified, according to police.
