North Haven Local Recognized at SASE National Conference in Houston
Electrical and Computer Engineering Student at Northeastern University Presented with 3 Awards

Jenny Cheung, a second year undergraduate student studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northeastern University’s College of Engineering, was recently awarded three awards at the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers’ (SASE) National Conference in Houston, TX.
The Northeastern SASE chapter was recognized with the 2015 Inspire Award for the Most Improved Chapter. This award is presented to the chapter that has displayed the most growth, change, and improvement over the past school year.
The Northeastern SASE teams present at the conference were also recognized for their participation at the InnoService Design Competition and SASEHacks. These events allowed chapters to develop new technologies and build hands-on technical skill training. One of Cheung’s Innoservice teams, the pRUFFessionals, won 3rd place at the National Conference for developing an “Anemoslip,” a sanitary pouch that utilizes microfiber technology to clean pathogens, dirt and grime off mobile devices. Cheung also participated in SASEHacks, a 24-hour builing project, where her team placed 2nd with their design of a 3D printed wearable device fitted with sensors to alert others if the wearer fell or experienced a seizure.
