North Haven Man Charged with Confronting Off-Duty Police Officer at Red Light
The man allegedly banged on the officer's window and yelled profanities in North Haven.

A North Haven man is accused of confronting an off-duty Meriden police officer, banging on the window and yelling profanities while the officer was stopped at a red light.
Mark McKenna, 59, was arrested for the incident that occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Sunday night.
North Haven police said that the uniformed off-duty police officer was heading into work and stopped for a red light at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Clintonville Road when McKenna suddenly ran up to the officer’s personal vehicle and began banging on the driver’s window and yelling profanities.

McKenna then ran over to another vehicle and yelled at the scared female operator, according to police.
The officer then confronted McKenna and detained him until North Haven officers arrived.

McKenna was arrested on a charge of breach of peace. He is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on March 26.
