North Haven Municipal Election 2017 Results

NORTH HAVEN, CT — North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda cruised to a fifth consecutive term, finishing with 4,616 votes in Tuesday’s municipal election and defeating Democrat Alan J. Sturtz, who received 1,094 votes. The rest of the Board of Selectmen results are as follows: Republican William Pieper, 3,654; Democrat Sally J. Buemi, 1,761; and Petitioning Candidate Anthony Paul Fronte, 139.
In the race for Town Clerk/Tax Collector, Republican J. Stacey Yarbrough defeated Democrat Kathy Spinato-Grant 3,972 to 1,543.
Republican Laurie-Jean Hannon defeated Democrat Steven Gifford for Town Treasurer by a vote of 3,950 to 1,574.

For Board of Finance, James J. Lianos (R) received 3,720 votes, Dyann M. Vissicchio (R) had 3,719, Michael T. Hallahan (D) had 1,765 and Danielle Morfi (D) finished with 1,614.
Republicans Joseph Solimene and Goldie Adele won seats on the Board of Education, along with Democrat Amanda Gabriele. Solimene received 3,699 votes and Adele received 3,574 votes, while Gabriele finished with 1,746 and Kari Swanson had 1,737 votes.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — On Nov. 7, North Haven residents will hit the polls and vote for various local positions. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dozens of candidates are on the ballot for the local election. Here is a breakdown of what you need to know.
Residents will vote on candidates for First Selectman, Selectman, Town Clerk/Tax Collector, Town Treasurer, Board of Finance, Board of Education, Board of Assessment Appeals, Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Police Commissioner and Fire Commissioner. Am I Registered?
If you do not know if you are registered to vote, you can click here. Applications must be postmarked or received by a voter registration agency by the 7th day before an election, which is Oct. 31. However, if you miss the deadline for registering for an election, Connecticut now offers same-day voter registration. You can register and vote in person on Election Day at your town's Election Day Registration location. You can contact your local registrars of voters for information.

Absentee Ballots
You can vote by absentee due to the following reasons:
- Illness or physical disability
- Absence from town during all election hours
- Religious beliefs forbidding secular activity on election day
- Serving as an election official at a polling place other than your own
- Active service in the Armed Forces
