North Haven Nursing Home Fined Over Snapchat Video: Report

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Montowese Health and Rehabilitation Center in North Haven has been fined $1,320 by the state Department of Public Health after a nurse aide posted a video on Snapchat of a resident in a wheelchair asking for a grilled cheese sandwich, according to the Connecticut Health I-Team.

Cara Rosner of the Connecticut Health I-Team reports the nurse aide, who no longer works at the facility, posted the video in August — and just one day after staff were reminded that cellphone use is prohibited in resident care areas.

Officials notified the DPH and North Haven Police about the video, which had been edited with the caption “All I want is a grilled cheese sandwich,” according to Rosner.
