North Haven Police Arrest East Haven Man in Alleged Craigslist Scam
Anthony Dagostino, 28, was arrested Monday.

An East Haven man was arrested by North Haven police Monday in connection with a Craigslist scam in September.
North Haven police said in a press release that a Middletown resident became a victim in the scam in which a Craigslist post advertised automotive bodywork services for cash.
Police said the victim called the advertised phone number and was instructed to meet in a commercial parking lot in North Haven.

Once there, the victim gave Anthony Dagostino, 28, of East Haven, the keys to his vehicle. They agreed Dagostino would fix the vehicle for $100 and return it the following day.
The victim was told by Dagostino to return to the same parking lot the following day and the vehicle would be there with the bodywork complete, according to police.

The following day the victim found the vehicle was gone and Dagostino was not returning his phone calls.
Dagostino was arrested by warrant on Dec. 22 and charged with fourth-degree larceny and using a motor vehicle without permission. Dagostino was held on a court-set $500 bond and arraigned in Meriden Superior Court on the same day.
