North Haven Rally Falls Short in District IV Little League Championship
Annex holds on to beat North Haven, which trailed 7-0 early in the game before falling 8-7.
North Haven staged a furious comeback in the District IV Little League championship game, but ultimately fell short in an 8-7 loss to Annex Saturday at Wall Field in North Branford.
North Haven trailed 7-0 after three innings and stormed back with five runs in the fourth inning. Hunter Garthwait and Torin Montgomery hit home runs in the fifth inning to help close the gap.
"I just told them that I was just so proud of how they were down 7-0 and they didn't die," North Haven manager Mike Sullivan told Mike Pucci of the New Haven Register/GameTimeCT.com. "They came back and they fought for their lives. In my opinion, they're champions just the way they fought for six innings."
