North Haven’s Rescigno To Step Down As President Of GNH Chamber Of Commerce

Former North Haven First Selectman Anthony Rescigno announces plans to retire.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Anthony Rescigno, one of the best known and respected business and political figures in the Greater New Haven area, will be stepping down as president of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce at the end of the year.

Rescigno, 72, has headed the chamber, and its over 2,000 member companies, for nearly two decades. He plans to retire on December 31st of this year. A search committee has been formed to find his successor. (To sign up for North Haven breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Before heading the chamber, Rescigno was the town of North Haven’s first selectman from 1989 to 2000.

Rescigno has received numerous awards over his distinguished career. He was the University of New Haven “Distinguished Alumni Award” winner in 2001; the “Gold Ring Award” winner by of the New Haven Boys’ and Girls Club Alumni Association and an inductee into the Junior Achievement of Southwest New England Business Hall of Fame.

Rescigno received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Haven in 1967. He and his wife reside in North Haven.
