North Haven Woman Changes Lives By Sending Love Letters

Handwritten notes improves strangers' lives.

When North Haven resident Hannah Brencher left home to move to New York City, she thought her dreams were coming true, however, instead, she fell victim to the isolation of the city, experiencing severe loneliness and depression. To find comfort, she began writing in her journal. This act of expressing her emotions with the handwritten word, lead her to write anonymous love letters, leaving them around New York City for people to find.

After posting on her blog, asking if any of her followers needed a love letter, the response was enormous. Hannah, now a published author of “If you Find a Love Letter,” coordinates the requests of hundreds of anonymous letters to people who need them most from strangers they will never meet who only want to remind them that they matter.
