Obituary: Barbara Burke Jensen, 80, of North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT - (From North Haven Funeral Home) Barbara Burke Jensen, 80, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 25, 2020 at her home with her family by her side.

She was the beloved wife of 59 years to the late Walter L. Jensen who she met in 1954 when she was 14 and he was 15.

Barbara was born in New Haven on June 9, 1940 and was the daughter of the late James and Caroline Riehl Burke.

She was the owner/operator of Jensen Dental. She enjoyed sailing and spending time with her family and friends who she loved unconditionally.

Mother of Kathleen “Kathy” Consalvo (Cameron) and Walter L. “Chip” Jensen, Jr. (Sandra). Beloved grandmother of Megan Gage, Courtney Ricketts (Chris), Kaitlin Hazelwood (Chandler), and Walter L. “CJ” Jensen III.

Loving Great-Grandmother of Chandler Dane Hazelwood, Jr., and Felix Tucker Ricketts. Sister of Carol Hartung and the late Kathleen London. Also survived by her beloved caregiver Grace Debrakins.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.

A “Celebration of Her Life” will be held at a later date.
