Obituary: Benjamin 'Ben' Gallucci Sr., 82, Of North Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT — (From West Haven Funeral Home): Benjamin "Ben" Gallucci Sr., 82, a longtime resident of West Haven, died on October 20, 2023 at his residence in North Haven. Born in New Haven on March 31, 1941, a son of the late Martino and Frances Carofano Gallucci.

Survived by daughter Patricia (Joe) Tomaso; son Martin (Trisha) Gallucci; son Benjamin (Rachel) Gallucci, Jr.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and beloved dog “Cookie.”

Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Ventuarelle; sister Dolly; brother-in-law Vincent Paolillo; and great-granddaughters Maxine Alexandria Rolfe & Brianna Nicole Rolfe.

Benjamin’s career included work for Marlin Firearms, Meadowbrook Apartments, and as a Maintenance Supervisor for Wallingford & Milford Housing Authorities.

An avid sports fan, Ben cheered for the NY Yankees & NY Giants all his life. He had a love for animals and for Hallmark Christmas movies. Known as “Mister Christmas of West Haven,” Ben would start setting up his epic displays in October, and then plug in on Thanksgiving night with a line down the street, waiting.
