Obituary: Daniel Thomas Smith, 65, Of North Haven

NORTH HAVEN, CT — (From Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home): Daniel Thomas Smith, 65, of North Haven, passed away March 15, 2023.

Loving father of Jason T. Smith, Christopher D. Smith, Gloria T. Smith, and Danielle G. Smith, all of North Haven. Beloved grandfather of Kurt D. and Wade W. Smith. Brother of Barbara Schlosser of Tolland and the late Raymond Smith. He was born in New Haven November 2, 1957, a son of the late Harry L. and Mary Ryan Smith, and had resided in North Haven since 1995.

He received a BA degree from S.C.S.U., and was a police officer at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a custodial supervisor with the New Haven Board of Education.

Daniel retired from the CT Army National Guard at the rank of Major. His pleasures included spending time with his precious grandchildren, making fried dough pizzas, and exercising. He will be missed by many.
