Obituary: Denise R. Reynolds, 63, Of North Haven

A 3-term President of the New Haven Elks Lodge and current Chairperson of the Trustees, her passion for Community Service were unparalleled.

HAMDEN, CT — (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home): Denise R. Reynolds, 63, abandoned herself to the hands of the Lord July 12, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Kevin J. Reynolds of North Haven and Spring Hill, Florida.

Denise was born on April 19, 1960, to the late Benjamin and Carmella Viscio Rusate. Daughter-in-law to the late Joseph G. and Marion Reynolds.

Denise attended Hamden High and Southern CT. State University. Denise's career at SNET/ATT spanned from phone operator to Regional Vice President of Information Services. Her love of family, cooking and gardening along with supporting our veterans were a driving force in her life.

Denise leaves her son Carl A. Perry of New Haven, her stepson Joseph P. Reynolds of Hamden, her brother David Rusate (Christy) of Naples, FL, sister Donna Romano of Cheshire, her grandson Carl A. Perry, Jr. of North Branford, a nieces Nina Perry (Tyson) of FL, and Angela Romano of MA, her nephews Brian (Ashley) Rusate of MA, Alex Rusate (Katy) of NY, her brother-in-law Brian M. Reynolds of Milford and her grandnephews Vincent Perry and Artie Rusate and grandnieces Leila Perry of Naples, FL, and Alexis Rusate, aunts, uncles and cousins, and special longtime friends Vanessa Pomarico and Patricia Macolino and her four-legged companions Harly and Kato.

A special thank you to Thomas E. Chausse and his wife Lea of Guilford for their support and guidance during this time. Denise's husband and family wish to express their deep gratitude to the nurses and staff at YNHH MICU for their care and compassion.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Celebration of her life on July 20 at St. Joseph/St. Mary Church on 129 Edward St. New Haven at 10 AM with committal following at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 19 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave. Hamden.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Haven Elks, Care of Veterans Services, 80 Broadway West, North Haven, CT 06473.
