Obituary: Diana Katynski Whitmore-Monaco, 56, Of North Haven
Diana worked in home care nursing and became a RN Case Manager at CT Hospice. She impacted her patients as well as their families.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — (From Porto Funeral Home): Diana Katynski Whitmore-Monaco, 56, of North Haven, beloved wife of Peter A. Monaco Sr. who wed in 2014 passed away peacefully at CT. Hospice on December 2, 2022 after a long and tiring fight with cancer.
Diana was born in New Haven on February 18, 1966 daughter of the late Josef and Gisela Grzeschik Katynski. Loving mother of John A. Whitmore Jr, Cheryl (Nick) Naclerio, and Sarah Whitmore from her first marriage with John A. Whitmore Sr. (who passed away September of 2011). Stepmother of Peter A (Alexis) Monaco Jr and Robert J. Monaco. Sister of Reinhardt (Lee) Katynski, Roman (Juvelina) Katynski, Peter (Toni) Katynski, and Linda Berg. Step-grandmother of Reilly and Taylor Monaco.
Diana graduated from Wilbur Cross high school in New Haven in 1984. Years later, she went on to study nursing which she had an incredible passion for. Diana then came across her calling in home care nursing and became a RN Case Manager at CT Hospice. She impacted her patients as well as their families for 10+ years.

Diana was full of light and joy, traits that were obvious to all even after just meeting her. Diana loved laying on the beach, cuddling with her dogs, and singing along to her favorite songs.
Her funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80) East Haven FRIDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call THURSDAY from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CT. Hospice www.hospice.com.
